Australian blues singer and songwriter, who plays electric guitar, banjo, and dobro.

Born in Katherine, in Australia’s remote Northern Territory, C.W. is the son of an American school teacher with a passion for music. He is influenced by Son House, Robert Johnson, Skip James and Bukka White, gospel blues, Chicago blues, ragtime, Hokum blues, calypso, early rock ’n’ roll, ’60s girl groups, and late-’50s R’n’B, among many others. CW taught himself the banjo and electric guitar, but his prized possession is a 1931 National Duolian dobro. He has recorded three complete albums of wholly original material: King Hokum, Jungle Blues and, his latest, Gon' Boogaloo. Stoneking paid tribute to some of his musical influences on his semi-official bootleg album, Mississippi & Piedmont Blues 1927-41, a limited edition release that was only available at his gigs, which features songs by Sleepy John Estes, Memphis Minnie and Blind Willie McTell sitting alongside obscurities by Bobby Grant, Geeshie Wiley, Joe Callicott, Mattie Delaney and Blind Blake.

David Huckfelt:  In the fall of 2017, David Huckfelt left behind the familiar—the comfort of his home in Minneapolis; the camaraderie of his critically acclaimed band, The Pines; the luxuries of heat, hot water, and electricity—and relocated to Isle Royale, America’s most remote and least visited national park in mighty Lake Superior. Six hours by boat off the Michigan coast, Isle Royale is the largest island in the world’s largest freshwater lake, an isolated stretch of wilderness seemingly forgotten by the 20th century (to say nothing of the 21st). There, as an Artist In Residence selected by the National Park Service, Huckfelt spent ten hours a day for two straight weeks writing in solitude, channeling the mysterious and lonesome island’s spirits into his stunning debut solo album, ‘Stranger Angels.’

Erik Koskinen: Musically sprouted from the blend of American folk, country, rock-n-roll, and blues, Erik Koskinen and his top-shelf band realize a sound that is distinctive and fresh while familiar and classic. Koskinen’s albums are a lyrical and musical metaphor of American’s theaters of war, of history, of relationships, and of the reflections in the mirror. Knowing but not didactic, Koskinen channels the ways of Whitman and reverently enters the anthology of uniquely crafted wry songs with the likes of Woody Guthrie and Ry Cooder while speaking as plainly as your neighbor.

"Corey Medina is a Native American Blues Artist from Shiprock, NM. Shiprock is on the Navajo Tribal Nation where Corey was born and raised. He moved to Northern Minnesota in 2012 and collaborated with Incepticons Entertainment. Through Incepticons Entertainment Corey released his debut album "Old Dog Crying" in May of 2015, produced by Garlic Brown Beats. Corey now plays, writes and produces with the Incepticons team full time and also travels with his band known as "The Brothers", hence Corey Medina & Brothers. Corey refers to the Brothers as a representation of the relationship he likes to keep with his fellow band mates. Currently the Brothers band consist of Eric Sundeen of Bemidji, MN on Drums and Gary Broste also from Bemidji, on upright bass. They set out to spread light to dark, and hope to the hopeless with their raw, soulful, intimate music and stage presence."

There's a clicking/rattling noise on the recording throughout the show. It's most audible when the bass is very present. I have no idea what it is, where it came from or why it's there. I tried everything I could in Audition to remove or lighten the presence of it, but just couldn't get anything to work. With that in mind, I would recommend this recording only to big fans of Lissie, or someone who feels the need to have every recording out there.

"LISSIE grew up in Rock Island, Ill., near the Mississippi River, speaking her mind and writing songs from an early age. Her fourth studio album, “Castles,” was released on March 23, which promptly cracked the Top 10 in the UK album charts. The new music follows the release of her 2016 album “My Wild West,” which peaked at number one on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and Top 10 on the Independent Albums chart and received widespread critical praise. Lissie also appeared in the most recent season of David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks” with NME saying of her intense performance: “Closing the episode with the Stevie Nicks-esque ‘Wild West,’ Rock Island’s most exciting troubadour more than earned her Lynch-commissioned screen time."

"Nooky Jones is “Sophisticated, seductive and smooth neo-soul ... Minnesota’s freshest baby-making music,” according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

“Straddling the depths of the old-school likes of Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Prince, the six-piece R&B band also borrows minimalist grooves and a neo-soul vibe direct from D’angelo, Erykah Badu, and Frank Ocean books of love,” states the City Pages of his music."
